Who We Are

The Northern Ireland Space Office (NISO) supports regional space cluster development and highlights regional capabilities both nationally and internationally. NISO works closely with InvestNI, the Regional Business development Agency, ADS the national Aerospace, Defence and Security trade association and the UK Space Agency to signpost opportunities for collaboration and commercial growth.

The role of NISO is to support development of the regional space cluster on the international stage and provide an entry point for those interested in developing relations and opportunities with Northern Ireland stakeholders and actors and facilitate meaningful knowledge exchange. NISO facilitates dialog and collaboration between Northern Ireland based companies and institutions and potential commercial partners, end users and clients.

providing a one stop shop for companies and individuals wishing to engage with the NI space supply chain and provides an introductory service to the relevant capabilities

KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE

NISO supports knowledge exchange activities nationally and internationally to enhance a better understanding of the utilisation of satellite applications within the public sector and enhanced public services

One to one introductory service to support and facilitate engagement relating to commercial opportunities and academic/research collaboration

The Northern Ireland Space Office provides a brokering service on behalf of the space cluster in the region. Northern Ireland industry and academia have a globally recognised aerospace capability in areas such as:

NISO has been instrumental in developing the Northern Ireland Space Strategy, Capability Brochure and NI Space Directory in partnership with InvestNI, the Regional Business Development Agency and the UK Space Agency

Northern Ireland Space Leadership Council

The purpose of the Northern Ireland Space Leadership Council (NISLC) is to provide leadership to the space sector in Northern Ireland and work towards securing long term sustainable growth for the sector.

The Leadership Council is comprised of senior representatives from the leading prime organisations, SME’s, local government / public sector and academic stakeholders from both world class universities engaged in the space sector.

The aim of the NISLC is to highlight the growing space sector in the region both nationally and internationally. This collaborative group can help support
promotion of opportunities and possibilities to public and private stakeholders in Northern Ireland and act as a vital united voice representing the capabilities and aspirations of Northern Ireland stakeholders, supporting the development of a sustainable space ecosystem in the region, aligning with the wider National Space Strategy objectives and aspirations.

ADS Northern Ireland Space Special Interest Group (NISSIG)

The NISSIG is made up of Northern Ireland companies and organisations with an interest in the Space sector and is hosted by ADS, which is the UK trade association advancing leadership in aerospace, security, defence and space, The main purpose of NISSIG is to grow the Space sector in Northern Ireland.

This group meets quarterly to discuss latest opportunities in the space sector, hear from key individuals within the space industry and exchange knowledge and experience pertaining to the sector.
